We put together this timeline so you can learn more about our long-standing work in Kentucky and the difference this community’s support is making for children affected by this emergency.

![2014: Powered by supporters like you, our work in rural Kentucky communities continued to grow. In 2014, more than 10,000 Kentucky children participated in our early education, literacy and health programs. And currently, we partner with 33 schools across 8 counties to provide high-quality early education, child care and nutrition programs. ![JULY 2022: Heavy rains led to deadly and damaging flooding throughout eastern Kentucky. Hundreds of families lost everything, and thousands more were left without power or water. Supporters like you helped our teams pre-position supplies and mobilize quickly to distribute water, hygiene kits, diapers, wipes and other essential items to families in urgent need. ![AUGUST 2022 AND BEYOND: Our teams continue to monitor the situation and support children and families in urgent need. As soon as it is safe to do so, we will work with local communities to get vital child care and educational programs back up and running and provide the psychosocial support children need after this traumatic disaster. We are committed to continuing our work to ensure all kids in Kentucky get the strong start in life they deserve.
