John, my mom is a lot busier than usual these days. I'm sure it's no surprise to anyone, but running for U.S. Senate is no walk in the park.

But even though my mom is working long hours and traveling all across our state, she still makes time to ask me how I'm doing and check in on her grandchildren, who she adores. That's the kind of mom she is, the kind of person she is, and the kind of senator she will be. 

My mom has always been my fiercest advocate, my loudest cheerleader, and my strongest defender. Regardless of what she was juggling, my mom has been there for me – for all my highs and all my lows.

She was there when I became a Saint Louis University alumna and a nurse just like her.

She was there to style my veil on my wedding day and give a heartfelt, tender speech that can still bring a tear to my eye when I remember it.

And she was also there to bandage every injury, to hug me during every heartbreak, and to hold my hand when I faced some of the scariest, most uncertain moments of my life.

When my dad died and, decades later, when we lost my oldest brother, too, my mom led my entire family through unimaginable grief with understanding, openness, and resolve.

My mom is the type of leader who will be there no matter what – the kind our great state deserves.

I have seen countless other politicians swoop in for photo ops, handshakes, and parades but then flee when their constituents had to grapple with senseless gun violence, natural disasters, rising costs of living, and corrupt insurance companies. But not my mom. 

She won't just be there when things are good; she is going to show up for every moment in the lives of Missourians. And in the Senate, she's going to be the Show Me State's fiercest advocate, our loudest cheerleader, and our strongest defender. That's why I am so thrilled to be able to vote for her this fall and why I am asking you to join our team, too.

Please, if you believe that Missouri deserves a compassionate, honest, and fierce leader, will you pitch in $5 to send my mom to the U.S. Senate? Every dollar makes such an incredible difference.
