Press Release: Rep. Loudermilk to Support American Taxpayers, Oppose Democrat Tax and Spend Bill
Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) issued the following statement ahead of the House of Representatives’ vote on the Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act, H.R. 5376:
“Democrats are once again proving they have no interest in fixing the problems Americans are actually facing. The first step in resolving any issue is to admit you have a problem. But, as hardworking Americans struggle to put gas in their cars and food on their tables, Democrats, with their $740 billion Inflation ‘Enhancement’ Act, are doubling down on their failed policies and are pushing a bill, which independent analysts have claimed will accelerate inflation, increase costs for goods, and raise taxes.
"Additionally, we cannot ignore the unprecedented and highly concerning raid this week on former President Trump’s private residence at Mar-A-Lago by the Biden Department of Justice, and the fact that Democrats, as part of this bill, are giving the IRS another $80 billion in taxpayer dollars and 87,000 more IRS agents -to go after American taxpayers. If Democrats are willing to weaponize the Justice Department to go after their political opponents, what are they planning on doing with 87,000 new IRS agents? After all, it was Democrats who weaponized the IRS to go after conservatives during the Obama-Biden administration.
“I will be in D.C. this week opposing the Democrats Inflation 'Enhancement' Act, and will continue to fight every day for hardworking Americans.”

The Wall Street Journal, citing a leaked inventory of what was taken from the Palm Beach resort, reported that agents removed around 20 boxes as well as a handwritten note, binders of photos, and Trump’s clemency grant to his longtime adviser Roger Stone.
