Hi folks —
Ever since the Supreme Court’s disastrous decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, we’ve been fighting to restore reproductive freedom across the nation and stop further attacks.
But the Supreme Court’s right-wing majority has made it clear their attack on our rights won’t end with overturning Roe. In Justice Clarence Thomas’ concurring opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, he suggested that the Court could revisit its decision that guaranteed the right to marriage equality.
That has us concerned.
Dismantling marriage equality would mark a major step back for our country, and it’s critical that we protect that right. That’s why the House voted to pass the Respect for Marriage Act, which ensures marriage equality so that no Court or state legislature can eliminate the right to same-sex or interracial marriages.
Now, the Senate must pass this legislation and send it to President Biden’s desk. We’re fighting to get this done, but I could really use your help:
So folks, will you add your name to our petition and urge the Senate to pass the Respect for Marriage Act? We must stand up to protect marriage equality and ensure that our fight for progress doesn’t move backward.
Thanks so much for making your voice heard.
