Friend,
?
This has been a very good week to be a Democrat and a very bad week to be a Republican. In the face of Republican opposition, Democrats passed the Inflation/Health Care/Climate Act, which will devote $370 billion to address climate change over the next ten years. It's the biggest climate bill we've passed in U.S. History -- not to mention the landmark health and inflation components it includes.

Yes, I wish it could have been stronger -- and it was disheartening to see ex-Green Party member Kyrsten Sinema fight to keep taxes low on the top 0.1%. That's a reminder that we need to build on our majority in November.
?
Contrast that with the anti-American, anti-Rule of Law craziness that is the modern GOP. Seeing Republican politicians line up to condemn the FBI raid on Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence shows that the GOP is more interested in protecting their own than finding out the truth. They don't care when "their team" breaks the law, because the law isn't important to them. They just want power, and they'll break the law if that helps them steal it.

I think moderate voters in CD-1 are starting to notice that the Republican Party is unhealthily focused on defending Trump from the legal consequences of his many illegal actions. Doug LaMalfa is firmly in camp "do whatever Trump says." Democrats, on the other hand, are delivering: gas prices are down, we're passing good laws, and unemployment is still dropping.?
?
It's a good week to be a Democrat. Sure, it's fine to take some cheer from Trump's legal troubles, but let's celebrate our WINS. And let's get some more wins in November, starting right here in CD-1.?

This Sunday marks the middle of the current fundraising quarter, and we're aiming to reach 50% of our quarterly fundraising goal before then to keep our pace going strong. If you can, please chip in $10 to stand up to help us flip this seat.

Thank you,?
