The evening following the raid I was in Bedminster, New Jersey where I met with President Trump. Although he was targeted yet again, he is in good spirits and more motivated than ever to stand up to America’s bureaucratic corruption, restore power to the people, and truly deliver for our nation.

The FBI raid on President Trump’s home is a complete perversion of justice.
The DOJ continues to turn a blind eye to criminals and corruption to instead target its political adversaries.
While details are still emerging about this unprecedented raid, it is extremely worrisome that this follows a history of politicized action against Donald Trump from participating in the false Russian collusion hoax to spreading disinformation about Hunter Biden during a presidential election campaign.
Concurrently, they have ignored Hillary Clinton’s hosting of classified info on a personal server, ignored IRS political targeting, and targeted parents at school board meetings.
Unfortunately, the FBI has discredited itself as a trustworthy, non-partisan agency and is in serious need of investigation itself.

Biden's Continued Border Crisis
|
The border is an unmitigated disaster, and it is disheartening to see the effects on our local communities. The Biden administration continues to defy their constitutional obligation to defend our country from invasion. Now, border states that have had to bear the brunt of the invasion are taking matters into their own hands.
Recently, Governor Abbott has been sending migrants to “sanctuary cities” like New York and Washington D.C. The mayors of these cities have predictably backtracked on their previous stances and are now calling for federal intervention and assistance. Us Texans have been demanding action since the Biden Administration took office. Not only have we been ignored, we have been told that there is not a crisis at the border and that the Administration has “operational control” over the border.
- Since October:
1,853,837 Illegal Immigrant Arrests (record shattering) 18,881 Rescues 650 Illegal Immigrant Deaths
These record shattering numbers are a direct result of the Biden administration dismantling Trump-era policies that were proven to be effective. It is clear that we must reinstate these policies to secure our border and protect our homeland. Otherwise, the invasion at the border has no end in sight.
I joined Fox Business to discuss this, which you can watch HERE.

It’s always a joy for me to take time to travel across the district and meet with fellow Texans after long weeks in Washington.
Last week, I was in Bastrop County where I spoke at the Bastrop Chamber Luncheon and held Mobile Office Hours at the Texas Grill Restaurant.
I also attended Corpus Christi’s 2022 State of the City Address and spoke at the Victoria Rotary Club to give a DC update and meet with some friends and concerned Texans.
As I traveled throughout the district, I was encouraged by the work ethic and commitment to civic engagement I saw.
Thank you to those who invited me to spend time with y'all and give an update on what is happening around the district and in Washington, D.C.
It’s truly an honor to represent the people of Texas’ 27th Congressional District.

Funding for Corpus Christi International Airport
|
Last week, Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA) was awarded a $750,000 air service development grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).
I was happy to work with the city of Corpus Christi and our federal resources within the Department of Transportation to help secure this grant for the Corpus Christi International Airport.
This grant allows those in Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend region to have access to more direct flights and more destination opportunities. I’m eager to see the benefits this grant will bring.

Thank You to Our Interns!
|
Our office said goodbye to a fantastic group of interns this past week.
In our D.C. office, Lauren and Justin were crucial in helping our legislative team function to their highest capacity. Additionally, they both led tours of the Capitol for many of you.
In the district, Preslie and Clay aided in casework, attended meetings, and represented our office in a highly professional manner.
We are grateful for their help this summer!
If you know someone who would be interested in an opportunity to work on behalf of Texas’ 27th Congressional District, they can apply for a spring internship HERE.

Last week I joined the Bob Jones Show, which you can watch HERE, as well as the Wade and Carter Show, which you can watch HERE.
