Assistant Chief Judge Lipman Retiring

Please join us in congratulating *Assistant Chief Administrative Law Judge Eric L. Lipman* on his upcoming retirement. Judge Lipman will be undertaking a "phased retirement" from state service ? moving to part-time work this autumn and then full retirement in the new year.

Judge Lipman has served at OAH for *16 years*. He was appointed as an Administrative Law Judge in 2006, and has served as Assistant Chief Administrative Law Judge since January 2021.? Prior to joining OAH, Judge Lipman held a number of posts in state government, including State Sex Offender Policy Coordinator, Acting General Counsel to Governor Pawlenty, State Representative, and Deputy Secretary of State.

Judge Lipman is well-known for his sense of humor and ability to bring people together and will be greatly missed.

In retirement, Judge Lipman looks forward to having more time for what he calls his "postponed priorities:" namely, more time for exercise and volunteer projects that strengthen the cultural ties between Israel and the Midwestern states.

Soon, we will post an opening to hire an Assistant Chief Administrative Law Judge. Assistant Chief Judges are a newer position at OAH. The Assistant Chief?Administrative Law Judge will:?


* Perform all?*supervisory functions*?related to administrative law judges;
* Work cooperatively with OAH leadership to?*continuously improve*?and maintain efficiency and quality across?*court operations*;
* *Serve?*as an *administrative law*?*judge*.
