Good afternoon friend,

Since the landmark 4th July debate where MPs who spoke in support of assisted dying outnumbered opponents two to one, we’ve been laying down plans to capitalise on this success.

We need a free and fair debate on assisted dying. One that is not constrained by an archaic process that’s easily manipulated by opponents to block progress. To achieve this, we need to secure time for any future assisted dying bill to be fully scrutinised, debated, and brought to a vote. We need political parties to pledge to Make Time for Assisted Dying

This is not a small ask. We need to attract the attention of MPs, party members and senior party officials. To do that we need you. Can you chip in £25 today, or whatever you can, to help make assisted dying an election issue?

What we really need is for all political parties to commit to making time for assisted dying in black and white. This means securing a promise in every major party manifesto.

This process starts at political party conferences in 5 weeks time. With your support, Dignity in Dying can be there with the resources to make a splash and get the major parties to start seeing assisted dying as an issue they can’t ignore - an election issue.

We need 1,200 people to donate £25 to hit our target - that works out at just two people per MP. I know that now is a difficult time for a lot of people - if you can spare even £3, it would get us that much closer to our goal.

With a new Prime Minister just around the corner, politicians are under more scrutiny than ever for their decision making and a general election could be called much earlier than expected. We must make our voices heard to ensure MPs don’t forget dying people when a general election is called.

I’ll be in touch this week with more information about what you can do to back the launch of this new campaign and ensure it is the success it needs to be.

Thank you in advance for backing us - this campaign could get us what we need to take assisted dying to the finish line in this country.

In gratitude,

Sadie Kempner

P.S. We will be using these funds to take a combination of political, public and media actions. This is going to be a long term, intense period of campaigning - we can't do it without your support. You can make this happen. Please donate £25 today.

Our campaign is powered by members - people who support us with a small regular gift so we can plan out the most effective actions to bring about an assisted dying law. Sign up and join thousands of other Dignity in Dying members across the country, from just £2 a month:
