1) On Vote For $700 Billion Tax And Spend Bill, the Democrats Phone It In
Congress has taken remote working to a new absurd low.
On the biggest vote of the year today, Fox reports: "According to the clerk of the House, 152 members submitted proxy letters as of late Thursday morning. Those letters designate a certain member as able to vote in-person on behalf of the member sending the letter."
Proxy voting is a complete farce; these members have all officially claimed in writing that they are unable to attend votes in person because of COVID – while they hold public campaign events and fundraisers, go on vacation, etc.
Shouldn't they respect their voters enough to at least show up for the floor debate and vote In person?
2) America Is Way To The Left Of Europe On Green Energy
You know things have gone haywire when the Democrats in Congress are to the left of the socialist governments of Euro-land.
To keep the power flowing, Germany and others in Western Europe are sprinting toward the two Ns: Nuclear power and Natural gas. This Bloomberg headline underscores how enlightened the Europeans are compared to the U.S.:
The story notes that the Europeans are going to have to use natural gas in addition to nukes this winter to stay warm. Meanwhile, we will rely on windmills?
To add insult to injury, not only are many members not showing up for the vote, they don’t even know what they are voting for. No one knows what this bill will cost.
The House is rushing to spend hundreds of billions of your tax dollars to copy the green energy policy Europe is already abandoning – but the exact dollar amount remains a mystery, because the various Senate amendments haven't been scored yet.
In fact, Thursday the CBO said: “It will be a few weeks before we can fully analyze and estimate those budgetary effects, at which point we will provide a complete cost estimate for the legislation."
So not only is Congress not showing up in person for the vote, they don’t even know what they are voting for!
Which raises a question: why are the Democrats in such a rush to recklessly approve the bill before there is a score? Why not wait until next month?
4) Your Friendly IRS Is Recruiting Special Agents "Willing To Use Deadly Force"
Remarkably, the day after an armed FBI raid of President Trump's home and just days before the House vote on adding 86,852 new IRS employees, the IRS posted this want-ad on Wednesday:

The CDC finally admitted what's been obvious since January – there is no logical reason to treat vaccinated people differently than unvaccinated people when both can readily get and spread the COVID virus:
