Friend,

Today marks the five year anniversary of the fatal Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville. What happened that day shook our Commonwealth to the core, and reminded us all there is a LOT more work we need to do in this country.

I’m proud of the steps we’ve taken in Richmond and throughout Virginia to strive for a more inclusive and loving community. I’m proud, but we must keep pushing.

Five years ago we saw a glimpse of the worst in us. Let us use that to inspire the best in us.
