Jack, Wisconsin had its statewide primary on August 9th—and now that we know who the nominees are, the stakes could not be higher.

In Wisconsin, Republicans have two Trump-loving, Big Lie embracing millionaires at the top of their ticket.
First, the Republican candidate for governor wants to abolish the elections commission that safeguards democracy in Wisconsin. He is challenging Democratic incumbent Tony Evers, who defeated Scott Walker four years ago and has held the heavily gerrymandered, Republican-controlled Wisconsin state legislature at bay ever since.
Second, Senator Ron Johnson is running for re-election and, according to the New York Times, "may be the senator who most fully embodies the detached-from-reality element of MAGA world." Johnson's Democratic opponent—Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes—is a progressive, history-making candidate. Barnes would be the first Black senator from Wisconsin, and at 35 would be one of only two millennials in the U.S. Senate.
Wisconsin is a 50-50 state, where Joe Biden eked out a 21,000-vote win two years ago. This election will be decided by voter turnout, and whether organizations on the ground who know how to mobilize front-line communities have the resources to get the job done.

At Daily Kos, we are dedicated to building progressive infrastructure in battleground states by supporting groups with strong relationships in hard to reach communities. We are supporting eight groups in Wisconsin who are doing the hard work to register voters, and get them to the polls—from Black churchgoers in Milwaukee to Native Americans living on rural reservations.
As Mandela Barnes said on MSNBC: "Our democracy is on the line." Canvassers are out on the field in Wisconsin talking to voters, and doing all they can to mobilize communities. Our Daily Kos community has been very responsive to supporting Wisconsin groups, and have donated more than $50,000 to our slate. But to finish the job, we need your help today.
Let's make sure these eight organizations have the resources they need for the last 90 days to engage their communities, get their voters to the polls and build progressive infrastructure.
