Hi John,
Have you seen this picture of AOC’s first pair of campaign shoes?
She shared this picture on Twitter after her primary win in 2018 that shocked the establishment. Countless “think pieces” from “thought leaders” came out proclaiming that her win was due to demographic reasons (i.e., she won because she’s a Latina in 47% Latino district). Her point was that 1) she won with voters of all kinds and 2) respect the hustle.
Hustle is going to win our campaign, too.
We’re going to knock on every single door it takes to win this election.
But there’s one critical thing we need to facilitate the hustle: a voter database and voter contact tool. That will let us know 1) who to canvass and 2) where to canvass them.
That’s why I’m writing you today. Since the WA Democratic Party has shut us out of using their tool, we got a quote for another tool: $6,800.
That’s a bargain when compared to another tool we were looking at: $2,000/month! But it’s still a lot of money, and we need to pay it in full and upfront this week.
Can you chip in to help us buy this tool by Friday?
The reason we’re shooting for Friday is that we want to have everything in the tool set up to hit the ground running in January 2020, and setup will take a couple weeks.

P.S. The WA Democratic Party prides itself on being progressive and transparent, but their response to our campaign shows they’re anything but. I’m fed up with the hypocrisy of the Democratic machine and its sellout politicians.
We’re not going to defeat Trump and the GOP with empty promises. I’ve spent my entire life fighting for progressive values: as a tenants’ rights organizer, a commissioner on the Tacoma Commission on Disabilities, and a court-appointed special advocate for kids in foster care.
Ours was the first congressional campaign to call for national rent control. We’re the only campaign (that we’ve seen) calling for bringing the pharmaceutical industry into public ownership.
Unlike corporate Democrats, I’ll follow through.
I’m fighting for the people, not billionaire donors, and despite what they say, the establishment doesn’t like that.
But you know what? They’re playing by an old playbook: high-dollar fundraisers, billionaires, and Amazon money. We’re playing by the new, winning playbook: grassroots donors who believe in our progressive vision of healthcare, housing, and jobs for all.
