Not one but TWO wins for animals.

Dear John,

We've got news.

Big news.

In a matter of weeks, you've made incredible progress for farmed animals.

You've contacted corporations, emailed your representatives, and made your voice heard.

Because of advocates like you, John, we have two outstanding things to celebrate this week.

A few months ago, we launched the Count Your Chickens campaign. The Mercy For Animals community sent 2,000 emails to executives across the country whose companies have failed to demonstrate progress toward their Better Chicken Commitment policies. As a result, Pret A Manger republished its full policy statement and reported its progress to date.

We also launched a campaign asking members of Congress to support the creation of plant-based meals ready to eat (MREs) for active service members in the U.S. military through the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act.

Thanks in part to your support, the Defense Logistics Agency will generate a congressional report by September 30, 2023, that will include a survey of service member preferences, a feasibility study into the production of plant-based MREs, and a plan to create and offer plant-based MREs!
