The GOP can’t handle the truth.
If you can excuse the cliche movie reference, I’d like to explain why national Republicans are so focused on defeating me in November.
As a navy veteran and VA-02’s Congresswoman, I’ve been outspoken about the danger our democracy is facing, John. Republicans claim that this is a partisan attack but, well, it’s not. This is about upholding my oath of office, and my duty to our country.
My greatest responsibility as a Representative is to ensure that our children inherit a healthy, thriving democracy — and the GOP may have a problem with that, but I don't care. Because I'm doing the right thing.

I’ll defend our democracy just like I’ll defend a person’s right to choose. Republicans want to attack our basic rights, and I can assure you that as long as I’m in office, I won’t let them win without a fight.
Here’s the reality: there’s no leadership without trust, and there’s no trust without honesty.
The lies, conspiracies, and cover-ups promoted by far-right politicians like my opponent Jen Kiggans are threatening the very core of our democracy.
