The ODC has already filed charges against attorneys Rudolph Giuliani and Jeffrey Clark for their involvement in efforts to overturn the 2020 election. LDAD had previously filed an ethical complaint against Mr. Giuliani in New York and, along with States United, against Mr. Eastman in California, where he is also admitted. New York has suspended Mr. Giuliani’s law license and is further investigating; similarly, California is now conducting an investigation of Mr. Eastman.
It is time to now hold John Eastman accountable in the District of Columbia where he is also licensed to practice law.
The National Law Journal recently published an article by LDAD's interim Executive Director and board member, Lauren Stiller Rikleen titled, Justice Alito’s Hypocrisy, addressing a recent speech in which the Justice spoke about the symbiotic relationship between religious liberty and other fundamental rights, without any self-awareness of the growing list of liberties he is willing to deny others.
In Salon.com, LDAD of counsel and former federal prosecutor, Dennis Aftergut, wrote about the former president’s invocation of his Fifth Amendment right and the dangerous attacks against law enforcement agencies following the search for classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.
