| Dear Friend, Representative Devin Nunes embarrassed the entire state of California yesterday during Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller's testimony. Trump's number-one stooge in Congress tried so hard to discredit Mueller during his testimony that he completely broke with reality, harping on Hillary Clinton's emails and calling the investigation -- which yielded more than 30 indictments -- a "political hoax."(1,2) We knew that Nunes would attack Mueller during his testimony -- we just didn't know how off-base he would be. During his questioning of Mueller, Nunes said "Hillary Clinton's emails" no fewer than four times. He accused the Republican prosecutor of conspiring with Democrats to take Trump down. He called the whole Mueller investigation "a media conspiracy." Mueller didn't take the bait, however. He just kept referring over and over again to his report, which Nunes couldn't attack. So Nunes was left looking like what he is -- a shill for Donald Trump. Meanwhile, Nunes is doing nothing to serve the people in his district in California. This year alone, he has voted against the $15 minimum wage. Against election security measures. Against reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act. Against stronger background checks for gun purchases.(3) Nunes has got to go. The Cook Political Report has Nunes' race as competitive, with a lead in the single digits.(4) We can stop this embarrassment to California in 2020.
