My name is Eddie Gallagher, I'm a former Navy SEAL who's twenty year career of fighting for our country came to an abrupt end when corrupt prosecutors tried to lock me up on false charges. After years of sucessfully fighting to clear my name I started Pipe Hitter Foundation to help other soldiers and first responders who are being unjustly prosecuted just for doing their job.

 

And today I have a shocking story to tell you. 

 

I am reaching out to share this story about Ben Darby — A wrongly accused officer in-need of our support. 

 

Ben was a well-trained Huntsville police officer who was forced to make a difficult split-second decision while responding to a dangerous 911 call. The situation was cleared by the Incident Review Board, and Ben’s actions were deemed justified. It was determined that he followed all applicable policies and laws.

 

However, soon after Ben was cleared, the Huntsville District Attorney began to use him and his case as a political football. They offered him multiple plea deals, but Ben Darby firmly believed his actions were justified and resisted all pleas. 

 

Ben was sentenced to 25 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. He is not eligible for an appeal bond due to the excessive sentence he was given. He is stuck serving day-for-day until his appeal comes through. 

The Pipe Hitter Foundation (PHF) was founded to defend the rights and freedoms of our men and women in uniform — The same rights and freedoms they risk their lives to uphold. This is why we support Ben Darby in his fight for justice, and are requesting your aid to help him get through this time of need and clear his name.

The District Attorney wrongfully charged Ben with murder, which kicked-off a years-long prosecution that became riddled with ethical lapses, prosecutorial misconduct, errant rulings and politics. Officer Darby’s jury was prevented from hearing relevant testimony from witnesses that would have exonerated him.

 

Ben and his wife, Keelin Darby, are now in the fight of their lives to appeal this ruling and request a fair shot at justice. The PHF team has set a campaign goal of $100,000 to help Officer Darby pay-off court fees, legal expenses, and other additional costs. 

 

Ben risked his life every day on the job to help others — Now it's our turn to give him the help he urgently needs.
