As you know, I’m not scared to call out nonsense when I see it…so take a look at this stat I just found: After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, ExxonMobil nearly DOUBLED its profits - all while jacking up prices on consumers.
It’s exactly what we thought - gas companies took advantage of an international crisis in order to make even more money.
It’s price gouging, plain and simple. That’s why I introduced a bill at the beginning of the crisis to make price gouging on gas illegal. This is common sense, and it is wild to me such a law didn’t exist before.
I know that saying this is going to upset the Big Oil industry, but they need to understand that I don’t work for them - I work for you - and I don’t take a dime of their money either.
