Many of my colleagues may be upset about me writing this email, but I feel this must be said.
The national polling numbers that we are seeing on cable television are deeply flawed and cannot be relied upon. The truth of the matter is that we as Democrats face an uphill battle this upcoming November.
The saying goes that the grass is always greener on the other side, which is why in recent midterm elections the party in power loses more often than not. Across the country, we face difficulties from inflation to layoffs. So we cannot become complacent. Quite the opposite – we need to go on the offensive and we need to do that now.
Here’s another secret that many of my colleagues are not going to be happy that I’m sharing: our donors are fatigued. When I go through the donations periodically, small and large ones alike, the same names pop up over and over again each month.
And I can't thank you enough for stepping up and helping us fight on for one more month, but needless to say this process is stressful and it would be nice to be one of those organizations that has wealthy donors write us six and seven figure checks and call it a day. Then again, where’s the fun in that? We’re No Dem Left Behind, we’re a scrappy bunch.
This midterm election has a lot on the line, if we don't win, I can guarantee you the Republicans will try and impeach President Biden for no other reason besides revenge for impeaching Trump twice.
That’s not all – expect to see massive rollbacks for everything President Biden and the Democrats have accomplished. From lowering the cost of prescription medication, renewed environmental protection investment and increased gun safety, all of it is at stake.
And the scariest part is that this fall, Republicans will try to cram themselves into the legislature at all levels, including state, and they will for sure push forward anti-abortion lies and make it even harder for women who live in red states to get access to healthcare. We’re already seeing this dystopic turn of events across the country, and we have to take America back from these tyrants.

What the recent elections in Kansas taught us is that even folks that identify as "Republicans" will disagree with the current GOP party and vote for Democratic policies. We need to change the way we communicate with these folks – we need to embrace them, and we MUST stop insulting them! I see so many ads coming from our side that are condescending to the Heartland. This must stop, and we hope to lead the way in changing that.
You cannot ask someone to trust you by insulting them, and a vote is the ultimate trust. Certainly, when disaster strikes, you can’t blame them or abandon them – vast swathes of middle America are intentionally controlled by the GOP, who don’t even care for them. America was built by hardworking men and women working manual labor jobs. Right now, those folks have been left behind, but they deserve more. Trump lied to them, he deceived them, and he is doing it again. We need to stop him, and we need to do that before it's too late.
