On August 23, our endorsed candidate, Melanie D'Arrigo, will go up against former Conservative Party candidate Joshua Lafazan and others to become the Democratic Nominee for NY-03, and this primary will be tight.

We’ve now learned that a crypto billionaire has donated an enormous amount of money to Josh’s campaign under suspicious PAC names “Protect Our Future” and “Guarding Against Pandemics.”

Josh appears to be yet another Republican running as a Democrat in hopes of getting elected to power. And now, he is taking money from a Super PAC that supports insurrectionists and election deniers. We cannot allow Josh Lafazan to win on August 23.

Melanie is now up against TONS of outside money. While she only needs $8,000 to cover her campaign’s remaining expenses, additional funds would allow her to run more digital ads in her district, reach more voters, and compete with this sudden influx of outside money. As we are seeing time and time again – Josh conveniently registered as a Democrat just before he announced his run for Congress. In previous elections, he ran with the Conservative Party of NY, which released the following statement in response to SCOTUS overturning Roe,
“Today’s decision is a great victory for those who value unborn life. It’s been 50 years in the making, and the New York State Conservative Party could not be more pleased.”

Melanie is the only female frontrunner in this race, and the only candidate for whom abortion access is a leading priority. This week, polling showed that this race will be decided at the margins. Melanie can win with our support.
