Late last month, a U.N. investigator accused “the Jewish lobby” of “controlling the media” during an interview.
Miloon Kothari is part of the U.N. Human Rights Council’s supposedly “independent” International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem.
Yet, Kothari’s dangerous comments reveal his own anti-Israel bias and the Commission’s unstated mission: an open-ended, one-sided attack on Israel.
Fortunately, the COI Elimination Act — introduced in the House of Representatives in March and supported by 98 members of Congress from both parties — addresses the commission’s stark bias. The bill would limit any U.S. contributions to the U.N. pertaining to the investigation and states that the U.S. should work to abolish the commission as a whole.
