Dear neighbor,

Almost a year ago, Hurricane Ida tore through Queens, flooding homes and claiming the lives of at least 12 New Yorkers. The next hurricane could come at any moment, and we need to prepare.

Tomorrow, I'll be knocking on my neighbors' doors in high-risk flood zones in East Elmhurst with First Deputy Commissioner Christina Farrell, from the Office of Emergency Management. We will be ensuring they have the information they need to prepare themselves for the upcoming hurricane season, and will be sharing bills and infrastructure plans we need to prioritize to keep our frontline climate communities safe.

We have over 100 doors to knock - can you join us tomorrow morning at 9:30 am?

I appreciate all your help getting the word out. While it is important that we prepare, we need large-scale climate action from the city, state, and federal governments to keep my neighbors safe from natural disasters. There's work to do!
