The Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade grants state governments the power to pass restrictive abortion laws and ban abortion outright. Last year, over 561 abortion restrictions, including 165 abortion bans, were introduced across 47 states.
Nearly one in four women in the United States will have an abortion by the age of 45. Attacks on reproductive justice are inextricably rooted in racism and misogyny. There is a long history of systems failing to protect reproductive freedom. There is also an important history of the ways that lawyers have joined with community organizations and have impacted people to build a movement to protect all of us.
Join a panel of We The Action partners and national experts as they provide an overview of Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization and the ways lawyers can help fight for reproductive justice in a post-Roe world.
Panelist include:
Lindsay Langholz, J.D., Director of Policy and Program, American Constitution Society
Kiki Council, J.D., Staff Attorney, The Forefront Project
Jeryl Hayes, J.D., LL.M., Movement Building Director, If/When/How
We hope to see you there!
All the best,
We The Action Team
