Members of Congress should work for the American people–not their stock
portfolio.

Earlier this year I was proud to introduce the STOCK Act 2.0, which would
ban Members of Congress from trading stocks, cutting down on corruption
and helping restore faith in our elected leaders.

Several of my colleagues have introduced similar legislation, and now I’m
proud to be working with them to push our party’s leadership to bring a
bill for a vote that will ban Members from stock trading. To be effective,
any bill banning stock trading should:

* Ensure that blind trusts are truly blind
* Include Members’ spouses and children
* Have a real and serious penalty for breaking the law

Last week I joined MSNBC to talk about how important it is to ensure
elected officials are held accountable. [ [link removed] ]Check it out:

Katie is running for re-election in California’s 47th district, which
includes Irvine and coastal Orange County. This purple district contains
an equal number of Democrats and Republicans and is a must-win for
Democrats. Consider pitching in today so we have the resources to keep
Katie in Congress fighting for working people.
