Our fight now turns to the Senate [link removed]     VICTORY in the House for the "Lower Drug Costs Now Act!"   DearJohn,  We did it! Supported by your calls, emails and petitions, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's landmark drug bill, the "Lower Drug Costs Now Act" (H.R. 3) [link removed], just passed in the House! This bill will significantly reduce seniors' drug expenses by empowering Medicare to negotiate directly with drug companies for lower drug prices, tying U.S. drug prices to those paid by other wealthy countries and capping price increases to the rate of inflation. It would also include dental, vision and hearing benefits to Medicare, services that aren't currently covered in traditional Medicare.
This shows that Big Pharma's power in Washington isn't everything ... and that when we stay engaged and make our position known, we can affect the policy process in the federal government!
While we celebrate yet another hard-fought victory, the National Committee realizes our focus must now shift to the Senate, where it faces an uphill battle. That's why I hope you will remain involved in this fight! And please consider making a generous donation now to support our vital work in Washington to protect the retirement and health security of millions of retirees and working Americans. [link removed]
