“Today, I visited and spoke with impacted business owners, residents, and civic leaders to convey that the continued flooding conditions are simply unacceptable. I publicly demanded that agency leaders come to the community to observe the damage firsthand and follow up with a meeting with impacted residents and businessowners. I have also requested that DC Water, DDOT, DOEE, and HSEMA provide communications strategies for alerting ANCs, civic associations, business organizations, and impacted residents, in addition to financial relief for those hit hardest by the series of storms.”
“Since taking office, I have championed the completion of the Northeast Boundary Tunnel and solutions to address stormwater flooding, so to have this happening years later is completely untenable.
