We knew this would be a difficult election. But thanks to our thousands of supporters, we were able to make our work count.

How we tackled bad information this election ([link removed])
This vote was left wide open to misinformation and abuse thanks to our dangerously out of date election laws. Thousands of people stood with us and donated to support independent, impartial fact checking. We couldn't have done it without them.

We knew independent, impartial, timely fact checking would be more needed than ever this election. We wanted to fact check more claims and reach as many voters as possible with the information they needed on the pledges, promises and policies of this campaign.

The last six weeks have been challenging. We saw inappropriate and misleading campaign tactics from parties, and there is no doubt that trust in politics has been harmed as a result.

It’s important to remember that this election wasn’t all bad. Some candidates did correct the record and drop false and misleading claims. Some have won your trust over the last six weeks.
Whoever wins this election we need to have a serious conversation about trust in politics. Alongside our supporters, Full Fact will hold new MPs from all parties to account over the course of the next Parliament.

New MPs don’t have to stick to old habits. Together we can stand up for the standards we deserve.
