If you watched Mayor de Blasio on stage at last night’s primary debate, then you saw that voters don’t have to choose between supporting a progressive and supporting someone who can get things done. And lots of other people are starting to see it too:

Another big standout to me [in the debate] was Bill De Blasio. I live in New York. I actually think he’s been a very good verging on a great mayor. He ran on a strongly progressive platform after twenty years of Republican mayors. He won. And with little fanfare he put his whole platform into effect. Universal pre-K, the end of Stop-and-Frisk…. According to the Washington Post, the Mayor made a “far-reaching case for government activism.” But he’s in danger of missing the next debate. If he doesn’t make the stage in July then the progressive values we share won’t be represented. Last night’s debate was a huge opportunity to show the country what we stand for and build momentum for this campaign — and Bill seized it with both hands. As the spectacle continues tonight, we need to keep building so we can keep moving voters.
