This is a crisis.

Across the country, Trump-backed election deniers are winning their primaries. In critical states like Arizona, Nevada, Michigan, and New Mexico, conspiracy theorists could become secretary of state—which means they’d be in charge of administering our elections. 

That means people who believe in wild lies, like that “left-wing anarchists” planned the January 6th insurrection, could soon oversee vote counting. Scary.

They’ve even formed a little club! It’s called the “America First Secretary of State Coalition” that, for starters, vows to eliminate mail-in ballots, aggressively clean up voter rolls (i.e. purge voters), and end early voting.

Over 4,000 people in the Stand Up community have sent letters to the editor of their local newspapers, letting people know that our votes and our democracy are at stake in this election. This is part of a coordinated and carefully planned attack on our freedom to vote. Step one was to pass anti-voter legislation across the states. And now we’ve moved on to step two: install Trump loyalists in the top election administration role. 

It’s not hyperbole to say that our democracy is in danger. 

The way elections are run and decided could be completely dismantled if the America First Secretary of State Coalition gets their way.

The best way to fight back against Trump’s Big Lie and those who continue to spread it is by telling the truth—the 2020 election wasn’t stolen. But we’re facing a very real threat by those who still believe it was.

Letters to the editor have already been placed in twenty states, from Arkansas to Wyoming, urging our fellow Americans to get out the vote this November 8th and put the Big Lie to rest once and for all.
