Friend,

Last week, we achieved a victory a long time in the making — a federal judge ordered the Biden administration to undo the harms of the Trump-era Muslim and African Bans and implement an effective visa reconsideration process for those who were denied family reunification, jobs and educational opportunities, and medical treatment as a result.

Despite President Biden rescinding Trump’s Muslim and African Bans on his first day in office, the harms of these discriminatory policies have persisted and are still impacting families to this day. This ruling will help bring relief to the families who were torn apart by these bans and who, up until this decision, had no course of action to end their indefinite limbo.

Issuing the Muslim Ban was one of Donald Trump’s very first actions as President and NILC has been fighting against it — and every iteration of his Muslim and African Bans — ever since. In fact, we are the only national organization that sued on every aspect of the Muslim and African Bans. And now, four years after we first filed our lawsuit, we’re on a path to justice.

We rely on your help to power our immigrant justice movement, friend. That’s why we’re asking: will you make a contribution to strengthen our organization and keep fighting to prevent xenophobic policies like the Muslim and African Bans?

DONATE

It’s because of our collective work that we’re celebrating a monumental ruling that says loud and clear that the Biden administration must not delay justice for people harmed by the Muslim and African Bans. We are committed to holding the Biden administration accountable to this ruling and making sure it implements a fair, effective process for all applicants. And we need your help to continue that fight.

Your participation in our work makes a difference. Please make a contribution to further our fight to protect and defend immigrant communities >>>

We’re so grateful to have courageous supporters like you on our side. Thank you for standing with us.

Sincerely,

Max Wolson
