John,

Last week, POLITICO dropped a bombshell article exposing a recording of a top right-wing “election integrity” operative admitting to targeting “an emerging ‘new American majority’ of people of color, young people and unmarried women that could make conservatives ‘obsolete.’”

The speaker is a leading right-wing operative whom, POLITICO writes, the Republican National Committee “identify as the quarterback of the effort to create a permanent [“election integrity”] workforce.”

John, this recording caught them admitting in private what we’ve been saying all along: these Republicans don’t want democracy, and “election integrity” is nothing more than code for suppressing voters who don’t vote the way they’d like. Will you chip in $10 today to help us fight back against the right’s blatant suppression of voters in communities of color and the youth by registering and mobilizing them to vote in every election, twice a year?

The article then concludes in chilling fashion: “In the tapes, Mitchell also disparaged the Democrats’ recent warnings about threats to democracy.

‘They bring democracy to your doorstep. I wanna pause right here. We don’t live in a democracy,’ Mitchell said, to a round of applause from the crowd. ‘But to the left, everything is about democracy, the democracy fund, the democracy this, the democracy that.’”

The New Pennsylvania Project is expanding our democracy in Pennsylvania by expanding our electorate to include the “New American Majority” — people of color, the youth and single women under 35 years old. Our work is critical to having a state government that not only works for ALL of us but looks like ALL of us. We are centering communities that have been historically disenfranchised and left out of the democratic process including communities of color, immigrant communities and the youth, and empowering these communities to be civically engaged and make their voices heard in every election, twice a year.

There are people who do not want to see this work be done including the right-wing extremists mentioned in the article above.

But, nevertheless, we persist.

John, this is what we’re up against. People who truly want to destroy our democracy, are not afraid to say it, and are explicitly targeting voters of color and the youth to do it. Will you donate $10 right now to help us protect our democracy and help the voters make their voices heard in every election — twice a year? We have less than 90 days left until the midterms, and we can’t afford to waste a single one of them.

The New Pennsylvania Project was founded in May 2021 to expand Pennsylvania’s electorate, so it reflects the Commonwealth’s demographically changing population. In the next four years, NPP will engage and empower young residents and those living in under-represented communities of color and immigrant communities. We will register them to vote, provide education about the issues that matter in their neighborhoods, and mobilize people to vote in every election.
