This week, Debbie was at the White House to join President Biden as he signed two major pieces of legislation, the CHIPS and Science Act and the veteran’s PACT Act, into law.
The CHIPS and Science Act will return our supply chains home, get thousands of Americans back to work, and reduce our dependence on foreign competitors by manufacturing semiconductor chips on American soil.
The PACT Act will address toxic exposures that have impacted too many veterans in America and provide the health care and benefits they deserve. Debbie attended the signing of the PACT Act with Kevin Hensley, legislative director of the Michigan VFW and a veteran.
Kevin suffers from toxic exposure from burn pits and needs oxygen. Before the event started, Kevin told Debbie that if anything ever happened to him, he knows now that his wife and children will be taken care of.
Debbie worked tirelessly to advance both of these bills forward, and this week, they were signed into law. These may not be headline issues, but Debbie never stopped working to make these laws a reality because she knows they will help thousands of people in MI-06.
Debbie is a leader we need in Congress because she stays focused on finding solutions to issues that impact people’s everyday lives. We need to make sure she returns to Congress, but first, we need to soundly defeat the MAGA Republican challenging her in November.
