Hi John,

I’m thrilled to present the 2022-23 cohort of NPH’s Bay Area Housing Internship Program (BAHIP)! View this year's cohort, and make sure to click on their photos to view their inspiring stories!

What’s Next: The intGroup photo of fifth BAHIP cohorterns have recently started their year-long journey at their respective host agencies, where they will gain knowledge, skills, and hands on experience alongside the experts of our Bay Area affordable housing industry!

What BAHIPers Gain: The work of the interns at their host agency covers the core competencies of BAHIP, which includes the financial pro forma, the project approval process, loan closings, development finance applications, and leadership development. Their experience also includes a year of activities, trainings, networking, and events led by NPH and our partners and other professionals, that cover real estate development, housing policy and advocacy, and soft skills training, such as communications, workplace culture, and more.

BAHIP: Advancing Racial Equity and Inclusion in Our Industry

BAHIP is a one-year, paid internship program with the goal to help diversify the Bay Area’s affordable housing field by recruiting college students from low-income communities and communities of color into careers in affordable housing development and project management.

The program introduces interns to the affordable housing field, helping them nurture their passion and commitment to housing and racial justice while informing their civic engagement moving forward. As BAHIP enters its fifth year, we’ve placed over half of our graduates in full-time permanent positions at leading housing agencies!

Want to Get Involved with BAHIP? Make a difference in an intern’s life! Mentor an intern, become a host agency in a future program year, and/or assist with intern programming. Learn more about the BAHIP network and email me directly at [email protected] to learn more.

Cheers,
