During the appropriations process, Mary Gay successfully advocated for major funding. She knows that these federal resources are critical to the success and well-being of her constituents.

While these federal resources are directly funding projects and jobs in PA-05, their impact is felt throughout all of southeastern Pennsylvania.
✅ Created and maintained thousands of jobs at Ridley Park through numerous National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and appropriations bills
✅ Secured contracts for Philly Shipyard amounting to a total of $1.5 billion in funding for 5 National Security Vessels
✅ Advocated for and secured over $1.3 million in funding for school building and infrastructure repairs
These highlights are just a few of the appropriations wins Mary Gay secured for PA-05. She also submitted ten community projects to the spending bill signed by President Biden this spring. For Mary Gay, this was a particularly special win since hers was one of the only offices to have all ten community projects in the final bill!
Here are just a few of the upcoming community projects that Mary Gay will be fighting for in Fiscal Year 2023:
✅ Improvements to the ICU and Critical Care Nursing Unit at Riddle Hospital
✅ The African Cultural Alliance of North America will build a multi-use facility – The Africa Center in Southwest Philadelphia
✅ Funding for Prison-to-Community Workforce programs sponsored by Delaware County
