This week and next week, students across Florida are returning to their classrooms for the start of the new school year, and my campaign is working to ensure ALL children have the tools they need to be successful.
My mom and dad are products of Miami-Dade public schools. When my grandparents fled Cuba for Miami, they knew that a good education was key to their children’s success in the country of opportunity -- a value that was instilled in me by my parents at a very early age. Now as a mom and as your candidate for Florida State Senate, this is a core value that makes me who I am today.
We must be supporting all of the families in our community and investing in our children at a young age. That’s why my campaign is hosting a Back to School Drive next Tuesday, August 16th, where we’ll be giving away backpacks filled with school supplies to foster children and children who have experienced abuse.
