I write to share with you a little about my husband. I learned very early in our relationship that Matt works tirelessly for what he believes in. His commitment to service is infectious. Perhaps the quality of his character that I appreciate most is that he motivates me to be better. In fact, he motivates everyone around him to be better. And I know we have all experienced this about him, especially through this email list. Even this year when he is on the ballot, he is helping other Democrats in their election and re-election campaigns.
After Matt and I got engaged.
Matt's work for other Democratic campaigns this summer has been especially important to me because of the outrageous reversal of Roe v. Wade. There are few issues that mean more to me that a woman's right to choose. I am grateful to you and to him for helping two wonderful pro-choice leaders, Elaine Luria and Abigail Spanberger, in their efforts towards re-election. But I also want to make sure we help Matt win his re-election campaign. We need leaders who protect and support women's reproductive health care, and leaders who promote policies aimed towards equality.

So, in honor of the work Matt is putting in, I am coming to our volunteer canvass kickoff on Saturday to help him. Will you join me?

I hope you can make it. If you can't, I understand. It will be hot, so even coming to listen and preparing to canvass in the Fall would be great.
If canvassing is not something you feel comfortable with (I know it's not my favorite way to support candidates), I would ask if you might help Matt by contributing $25 or whatever amount you can. Matt and I want this campaign to be driven by as many of you as possible. He is doing the work to raise the necessary resources and he is knocking on the doors to win. The more of us who contribute to the effort, the stronger we are, together.
I am so grateful and excited that Matt wants to share his time and his talent with us for another four years as a member of the Arlington County Board. Thank you very much for being part of this campaign to help my husband continue serving all of us.
