Dear Friends,
I was thrilled to see so many of you at our Coatesville Town Hall on Workforce Development. The conversation was so important for our community, and I thank our expert panelists for joining us as well. I'm excited to announce our fourteenth town hall. It will be a telephone town hall to make sure that those without access to a vehicle or easy transportation can also be part of the conversation. Hope to hear from all of you!

DBT, or 3D, Mammography is one of modern medicine's best tools for breast cancer screenings, necessary preventative testing to protect women from this deadly disease. According to BreastCancer.org, over 40,000 women are expected to die from breast cancer in 2019. That's why it's essential for women to be able to access the best preventative screenings possible. TRICARE is the health care program in which many of our servicewomen and their families are enrolled. As a veteran and daughter to a veteran, I was dismayed to find that TRICARE doesn't provide coverage for DBT Mammography. So, I reached across the aisle and joined forces with Senator Martha McSally (R-AZ) to secure funding for this lifesaving technology. I'm pleased to announce our success! This week, the Pentagon has confirmed that TRICARE will cover DBT Mammography for 2020. Together, Senator McSally and I will continue working to make this funding permanent. This is the sort of bipartisan work I will continue to champion as a representative from our purple community. |

Going to a Minor League Baseball game is an American pastime. I still remember my mother taking us to games growing up. These games are a wonderful and affordable opportunity for communities to gather and enjoy a summer evening. They are a staple for local commerce as well. When I heard that the MLB was proposing to eliminate 42 minor league teams, I immediately began working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle. Over 100 of us joined together on a letter urging the MLB to reconsider this move. We are continuing to work together and are committed to doing everything we can to save these teams. Check out my interview below: |
