I hear a lot of cynicism about politics in my job — and believe me, I get it. You see how many anti-abortion rights politicians are determined to block progress, you see how difficult it is to create the kind of change we need and deserve… It's hard not to get discouraged.

But discouraged is not the same as defeated. If we are going to restore abortion rights, we have to get loud about what our communities need.

Right now, Congress is in recess, which means that the people who represent us are back in their home states and districts. I think they need to hear from us. Our members need to know that we are not defeated, we are not beaten, and we are not about to give up on our health and rights.

Our new guide includes all the information you need to hold your representatives accountable. You can show up and speak out at a town hall event. If your member voted against reproductive rights, you can join a protest at local district offices, or even start a protest of your own.

However you get involved, our message is the same. Abortion and birth control must be protected. Access to essential health services must be restored.

The road to restoring and expanding abortion rights will be long, and I know it will not be easy. But I believe in our movement and our power, I believe we can do what needs to be done. Thanks for joining in.
