John – In case you missed it, the big news from last night is that BNC’s Becca Balint resoundingly won her primary for the open U.S. House seat in Vermont.
With a solid blue district like this, it means Becca is almost certainly headed to Congress in January 2023 – and when she does she will make history as the first woman and first openly gay representative elected to Congress from Vermont.
We are so proud to have stood with Becca, and we’re excited to bring her victory home in November – only 90 days from today!
But before we can focus on the road ahead, we have one more set of primaries to get through, less than two weeks from now.

Up next on August 23rd there are three BNC elected representatives and two bold progressive challengers.
In addition to reelecting AOC, Jamaal Bowman, and Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, BNC is aiming to send Melanie D’Arrigo and Brittany Ramos DeBarros to Congress to join them!
Melanie is running for the open seat in NY-03, and as a lifelong Long Islander, no one is in a better position to win this seat than she is. Melanie has been organizing in this community for years. She was born on the south shore of Long Island, and has raised her family in the district. She cut her teeth as an organizer in this district and earned the respect and support of many local organizations.
Brittany Ramos DeBarros has established herself as THE progressive choice for NY-11, competing against the once-failed Max Rose, who previously lost this seat to the current incumbent who went on to become an insurrectionist. Brittany knows this working class community is ready for someone who will fight for them, not special interests like the corporate PACs who fund Max Rose’s campaign.
