He’s taking the fight to MAGA Republicans and we’re backing him by adding him to our slate of Give No Ground candidates Indivisibles,
It’s official: Mandela Barnes has won the Wisconsin Senate primary! As lieutenant governor, Mandela has been an outspoken champion for progressive values, and if elected, he will be the youngest ever and first Black senator from Wisconsin. We’re incredibly proud to have endorsed Mandela in January, and we’re doing everything we can to get him elected in November.
Republican extremists like Ron Johnson are attacking our right to vote, reproductive freedom, and marriage equality. Our best chance to stop them is to elect strong progressives who are willing to do what it takes to protect our fundamental rights -- including ending the filibuster. Mandela is committed to being that crucial 51st vote.
That’s why we’re excited to announce we’re adding Mandela Barnes to our slate of Give No Ground candidates. With so much on the line, we’re going all-in to make sure he wins in November, and we’ll be redoubling our efforts to mobilize Democratic voters in Wisconsin.
This is a race we can and must win. With Kansas voters clearly rejecting the GOP’s forced birth ballot initiative, and Democratic candidates overperforming in special House elections in red districts -- the momentum is on our side. The GOP’s policies are extreme and wildly unpopular, but not enough people have heard about their radical agenda. We need to let every voter know what’s at stake.
There are less than 100 days left until the election, and if you’re not already, now’s the time to get in the fight. Click here to sign up as a Give No Ground volunteer, and we’ll send you everything you need to take action on critical races across the country. If you’re not connected with your local Indivisible group, this is the perfect time to get plugged in! Check out our national map to find your local group, and reach out to get connected.
The tide is turning, but it’s going to take all of us to defeat MAGA Republicans at the ballot box.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
