The winners of several of this year’s midterm elections will play a major role in deciding how the 2024 presidential election is run in each state, and how votes are counted. And too many Republicans running in these elections are proponents of Trump’s Big Lie — the conspiracy theory that Donald Trump was the legitimate winner of the 2020 election.

Unfortunately, that list of Republicans includes Scary Sigal Chattah, the extremist running for Nevada Attorney General. She has numerous ties to the January 6th insurrection and called an official who worked to overturn the election “her hero.” Trump himself even gave her a shoutout at his latest rally in Nevada.

Let’s be clear: Nevada is a swing state, and will be critical in determining the winner of the 2024 presidential election. We cannot have an election denier serving as our state’s top attorney in 2024.

We don’t say this lightly, but our democracy is at stake here. This is no longer about party, this is about believing in facts over fiction, and knowing right from wrong.
