Friends -
Last week, the state of Indiana passed a near-total abortion ban.
One of the bills sponsors said it “makes Indiana one of the most pro-life states in the nation.”
Pro life...
Indiana has some of the highest infant mortality rates in the country.
Indiana has some of the highest maternal mortality rates in the nation.
Indiana does not offer paid family leave.
Indiana’s firearm mortality rate is almost double the rate of California according to the CDC.
But tell me more about that “pro-life” agenda...
These people aren’t pro-life, they are pro-government mandated birth. And then you are on your own.
In California, we just signed a budget that will make our state the first in the nation to achieve universal access to health care coverage.
In California, we’ve passed the strongest gun safety laws in the country.
In California, we’re taking action on climate change so this planet is habitable for future generations.
In California we’re expanding prenatal care, mental health care, and childcare.
In California, we’re making universal preschool and free school meals a reality.
THAT is what being “pro-life” actually means.
But our work is not done. This November, not only am I on the ballot for re-election, but we are going to pass a constitutional amendment protecting abortion access in our state.
But I cannot do it alone.
So please:
Can you use this link to make a contribution, $5, $10 or whatever you can afford to my re-election campaign today? It all adds up when we’re all chipping in.
