Guns are the number one killer of kids in America — they take the lives of more children than they do of active-duty police officers and military personnel combined. This has to end now.

I was proud to stand with my colleagues in the House to pass an assault weapons ban to keep weapons of war out of our communities and off our streets.

Highland park, Uvalde, Parkland, Buffalo — these tragedies could have been prevented if we had an assault weapons ban in place. So many of our family, friends, and neighbors would still be with us today, and their loved ones would not be living in unimaginable despair.

Lawmakers must come together and vote in the best interest of Americans and their families. Please, sign my petition today to demand that the Senate votes to pass this life-saving legislation. [[link removed]]

AR-15-style assault weapons don’t just take lives, they destroy everything in their paths.

A gun manufacturer has recently announced their plan to distribute the AR-15 for kids — the JR-15. They want to put these weapons of war in the hands of innocent children . We cannot allow that to happen.

If enacted, the assault weapons ban would criminalize the selling, manufacture, transfer, possession, or importation of a number of semi-automatic weapons, saving precious lives.
