Washington, D.C. Look Ahead
This past weekend, the Senate passed legislation that will only damage our country's struggling economy and worsen the impact of the Biden Administration’s failed policies. Inflation has reached its highest point in over 40 years, and Americans are struggling to pay for everyday items like gas and groceries. On top of price hikes, the supply chain remains broken, and the economy is shrinking. In the midst of a recession, we need real leadership from Congress, which means careful stewardship of tax-payer dollars and workable solutions to the problems plaguing our country.
Washington Democrats and the Biden Administration, however, are pushing legislation that only raises taxes and burns through $770 billion. This bill is nothing short of a partisan wish list, chock full of reckless provisions that will increase audits on small businesses and middle-class families, provide funding for their Green New Deal priorities, and add more fuel to the inflation fire. When this reckless, partisan bill reaches the House, I will be voting NO, and I hope that my colleagues will do the same.
As your member of Congress, I am committed to fighting for a strong economy and helping you in any way that I can. If you are in need of assistance or would like to share a question or comment, please contact my office or visit my website at: Mann.House.Gov.

Dodge City Days: Celebrating 150 Years
My staff had a great time at this year's Dodge City Days celebration. Dodge City Days, the second largest community festival in the state of Kansas is a celebration like no other. All ages enjoy the rodeo, concerts, games, and cattle drives. This year marked the 150th birthday of this city that holds a rich and unique place in the history of our state and country. One of the annual events, the longhorn cattle drive, which goes right down Wyatt Earp Boulevard in Dodge City, gives Kansans today a glimpse into the life of cowboys in Dodge back in the 1800s.
Congratulations, Dodge City, on 150 years of heritage, history, and accomplishments!

Kansas Army National Guard Deploys to Middle East
On Friday, July 29, soldiers with the Kansas Army National Guard were honored in a deployment ceremony. 350 soldiers from across the state are deploying to the Middle East, with 243 deploying for the first time. I have often stated that Kansans epitomize what it means to work hard and to serve our neighbors, and these servicemembers represent the best of Kansas.
Thank you, to our brave servicemembers for answering the call to serve our country overseas, and a special thank you to their families for their sacrifices here at home. Please join me in lifting up our Kansas soldiers and their families as they enter this deployment.

FBI conducts raid on President Trump's Mar-a-Lago home
The raid of President Trump’s home on Monday was a brazen political weaponization of the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice. When Republicans called on U.S. Attorney General Garland to intervene when violent threats and actions were made against U.S. Supreme Court Justices and pro-life pregnancy centers, he remained silent – but found the time to raid Mar-a-Lago.
When former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton held state secrets insecurely on a server in her basement, the FBI also did nothing. And what about Hunter Biden’s laptop? Is the FBI concerned with the private business relationship between China and President Biden?
This seizure of former President Trump’s property is an embarrassment, it’s un-American, it sets a horrible precedent, and it’s an abuse of our country’s justice system.

Inflation has increased every month under the Biden Administration, burdening Kansas families. Back-to-school shopping is already the second largest annual expense for families. On top of skyrocketing inflation, parents are expected to face empty shelves as school supplies sell out quickly and cannot be restocked due to the ongoing supply chain disruptions.
To get inflation under control and the economy back on track, we need to put an end to reckless federal spending, unleash American energy production, and remove onerous government regulations that are hamstringing small businesses.

On Sunday we celebrated the courageous men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice or were injured while defending our nation. It is because of their serice that we have the privilege to live in the freest country in history. As we take the time to honor these soldiers, I pray that we also remember to not take their sacrifices for granted.
God bless our purple heart servicemembers. Your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
