Take a look, John:

[ [link removed] ]Headlines from letters to the editor

We asked supporters like you to send letters to your local newspapers
asking them to tell the real story about the climate crisis and who is to
blame – and guess what?

Dozens of letters got published! The headlines above are just a handful of
many examples – and it demonstrates how powerful we are when we act
together.

[ [link removed] ]It’s not too late to send a letter of your own,
John. Can you take two minutes
to send a letter to the editor and help build the pressure we need to
demand the media tell the REAL story about the climate crisis?

Since these letters to the editor got published, the Senate has passed
historic climate legislation. If signed into law, the bill, formally known
as the Inflation Reduction Act, would allocate $369 billion to reducing
greenhouse gas emissions and investing in renewable energy sources. While
this is an important opportunity, there's still a lot to do - especially
to hold the fossil fuel industry accountable.

A big part of winning the fight against the fossil fuel industry is about
winning the media fight. Fossil fuel companies spend billions of dollars
hiring PR firms to confuse the public and spread disinformation. It’s our
job to set the record straight.

The media needs to make one thing about extreme weather very clear: the
fossil fuel industry is to blame.

And saying it once isn't enough. We are calling on the media to report on
the culprits of this devastation until they are held responsible by the
broader public and the politicians they bankroll.

It is more important now than ever before that the media, the public, and
our politicians hold the fossil fuel industry accountable for causing the
heatwaves, wildfires, droughts, and floods we’re seeing today. Please take
action with us today:

[ [link removed] ]Can you send a letter to the editor of your local newspaper asking them
to accurately cover the climate crisis and make the clear connection
between climate events and the actions of the fossil fuel industry?

Thank you for helping us build the pressure we need to defeat the fossil
fuel industry.
