John,

We have some hard news. The big Reconciliation bill we’ve been fighting for all year is about to pass without any funding for paid leave, child care, or home and community-based services.

Congress has shut out the needs of families, people with disabilities, caregivers, and care workers — who are predominantly women of color — from economic relief.

We can’t forget about the cost of care – so we won’t let Congress forget either! That’s why we must act now while our representatives are on break in their districts for the next month. Don’t let Congress ignore the care crisis.

Send a message today and tell your representatives in the House and Senate to renew their commitment to care. [[link removed]]

We’re in a care crisis. Care costs are at an all-time high because of inflation and decades of severe underfunding. People who give and receive care do not have enough support. Period.

Congress had an opportunity to address the real cost of care – but didn’t. It’s unacceptable that the needs of tens of millions have been ignored.

Our elected officials are about to go back to their home districts for their August break, so now is the time for us to show up. We want a renewed commitment from electeds to make care programs and services more accessible and affordable for all – because care is the work that makes all other work possible.

Investing in child care, paid leave and home and community based services is what so many of us and our families want. The more people like us speak up, the faster we’ll get the relief millions need.

Will you send a message today, urging your elected officials to invest in paid leave, child care, and home and community-based services for all? [[link removed]]

Over the last year, direct care workers, family caregivers, older adults and people with disabilities have held town halls, shared their stories online, showed up in Washington, DC in force, and made calls to lawmakers urging Congress to invest in childcare, paid leave and home and community-based services – and we’re not done.

Our elected officials need to keep hearing from us – this month while they’re on break in their home districts and also when they get back to DC – because this is important and they need to pay attention to us.

Send your message now. [[link removed]]
