RMC Collab: Bernie - Abundance in Neighboring

Come see what is happening in rural Missouri as people engage in mission of all kinds across our state. Join a space where rural leaders are learning, collaborating and celebrating ministry as we respond to God’s gifts in our communities.

Security Camera Systems Available

Centenary UMC in Cape Girardeau, has available at no cost, 4 NightOwl brand DVR’s for security cameras.  These DVR’s support up to 8 analog security cameras each and have Internet connectivity for remote viewing.  They all have 500 GB hard drives for recording videos, support H.264 analog cameras and can be accessed using PC’s, smart phones or tablets.  Documentation, software and some camera cables are included but no cameras.   For further information please contact Bob at [email protected].

Helping Clergy Plan Ahead: Retirement and Will/Estate Planning 

September 1 4:00-8:30 pm with dinner provided

Join other clergy and their spouses for a time of learning, sharing a meal, and planning your future. MUMF and C2FM staff will be in the Southeast District . Clergy who attend both the Funding Retirement and Putting Your House in Order portions of the workshop will be eligible for a $500 grant toward the creation of their will or estate plan.

Festival of Sharing Grants

Festival of Sharing has funding available to help Missouri churches and organizations in efforts to cooperatively respond to community needs around poverty. We recognize that poverty is multidimensional and experienced in different ways. Local knowledge and collaboration can make a big impact. Festival of Sharing hopes to support communities as they work together to create healthy and successful lives for neighbors. Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis, and grants will be awarded up to $1,000. More details can be found on the application or on the Resource page of our website.

This year’s day at the ballpark comes just 2 weeks before the season ends so we have a prospective pennant race and quest of record attainment to look forward to.
 
The game date is Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 6:15 PM. Against the Cincinnati Reds. Seats are in the left field loge 270 series section with good shade and comfortable breezes. A family day at the zoo or science center combined with the game makes for a great road trip! Tickets are available now. Reservations are due by August 15th, but accepted as long as tickets can be found. Payments are due by September 1.

The best time to prepare for a disaster is before it strikes. Help the Missouri Conference and United Methodist Church be equipped and ready for the next time a disaster happens in Missouri or the wider jurisdiction by becoming Early Response Team trained.
