Hi John,

My name is Herb Jones and I’m running for Congress in Virginia’s First Congressional District.

For 30 years, I defended my country. I served in Iraq and Afghanistan. I was awarded a Bronze Star. I retired as a full colonel. I, and many others who served along with me, were exposed to toxic burn pits.

While my fellow service people and I risked our lives to defend our country and the American people’s rights and freedoms, my opponent supported burning it all down on January 6th.

Even more recently, he has spit in the face of American soldiers’ sacrifice, bravery and honor. He voted to deny combat veterans the medical care they need. He voted against the PACT Act.

But, now that it's passed, he is trying to backpedal. He's trying to retroactively gain credit for a bill he tried to destroy. We will not let him succeed.

Too many of our service people and veterans have suffered, and died, at the hands of callous congresspeople like my opponent. Lawmakers like him are great for contractors but bad news for my brothers and sisters in uniform.

Despite what he is now saying, my opponent blatantly tried to sink the PACT Act. We can’t let Rob Wittman sink even one more bill that would help the great people who serve in our military.

It’s time to sink his chances to keep his seat.
