Peter Welch is a good friend of mine. He’s also family. I trust him and you can, too.
Peter has been Vermont’s Congressman for many years and he’s awesome. We get along so well in Washington because he’s a hard worker just like me, and we understand that we’re here to make the lives of Americans better.
Now, Peter is running for U.S. Senate. This is an open seat we can’t afford to lose if we want to keep a Democratic Senate.
While my name won’t be on the ballot this November, Peter’s will be, and so will our shared values. Vermont is the only open seat this election held by Democrats. With a 50-50 Senate, we can’t afford to lose a single seat if we want Democrats to keep control of the Senate and continue passing legislation that will keep our country strong like the Inflation Reduction Act.
Republican strategists have called this a “sleeper race,” one they think they can actually win if Democrats don’t pay attention. If Republicans win this seat, they could actually regain control of the Senate and pass their increasingly radical, cruel agenda. We’re not going to let that happen.
