July 25, 2019

Dear John,

Our veterans have made incredible sacrifices in serving our country. Ensuring our veterans have access to the quality care they need is my top priority as a member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.

That’s why I am leading a bipartisan effort with my fellow North Texan, Congressman Ron Wright (TX-06), urging U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert Wilkie to take quick action in regards to moving forward on a Veterans Affairs health clinic in Garland. You can read our letter to Secretary Wilkie here and watch the FOX 4 report on our effort here

The veteran population in North Texas is growing rapidly, which has stretched the VA health care system thin. Every day, 40-80 veterans are left in temporary community care awaiting a bed at a VA facility.

Adding an additional Veterans Affairs health clinic in our region would allow more veterans to access the care they need to lead healthy lives. This project would be able to serve 184,000 of our veterans, and would also be a win for the city of Garland.

Congress must honor its obligations to our servicemembers. I am proud to work for the brave men and women who have put so much on the line to defend our freedom and protect our nation.

My office is always here to answer your questions and help with any issues you have with federal agencies. If you would like to contact my office, please send an email, or call my office at 972-972-7949. I also invite you to follow me on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram so you can keep up with the work I am doing for North Texans.

Sincerely,
